Fun Pictures

For no reason but I love my kids am I sharing these pictures. The one of Ashley is part of the "I have blackmail for when you are older" folder. For awhile now Ashley comes home and decides she doesn't always want to wear clothes - but the slippers add a little something.

Hailey for the first time actually looks happy to be on her stomach! For the longest time we have been waiting for her to roll on to her tummy and about 2 weeks ago she just started doing it - but not just rolling on her tummy - she is also trying to move. She has figured out how to move around while she is on her back a little bit but again she is never really happy unless you are holding her and giving her something to gnaw on!

Cookie time

So I am trying to make sure every year we all make cookies together - ok - Ashley and me, and eventually Hailey. This year Ashley discovered it was more fun to eat the cookie dough then anything else. She did a great job decorating the cookies though. Hailey sat in her walker for the first time while we did cookies - that lasted about 10 minutes and then she realized I was not holding her.

O' Christmas tree!

I can't believe how long it took us to get our tree this year. December has just flown by! We realized that we had better go get our tree because a snow storm was coming. So on a weekday (yes we actually did something on a weekday!) we packed the girls up after dinner to go get the tree. It was perfect - I had the girls and Larry took the truck - and as I backed out of the garage - It was snowing!!! Nothing crazy - just enough to put us in the mood!!
Two nights after that we actually decorated the tree. It was a lot of fun this year. Ashley was able to help. She kept trying to put all the ornaments in the same spot - and was pretty excited about it all!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. We packed up the car - with Max and made the trip to Aunt Shari's house. Both girls did great - we were a little worried about Hailey as she doesn't travel well - she must have known it was a special day! We had great food and Ashley kept pretty close to Holden.

Girls Day!!

Today I had the day off and Larry had to work - so what a great day for me to schedule a girly hair appointment for Ashley. Actually we have scheduled the girls for Holiday pictures and I wanted to get her hair trimmed before picture day. We went to Lollilocks which is such fun - the last time Ashley had a hair cut was about a year ago! She took a minute to warm up but then was pretty happy about it all.

After the appointment I thought "why not really press my luck and take both girls to babies r us"! We were doing pretty good - only 1 mad dash to the bathroom for Ashley and when we got to the toy section Ashley was so excited she actually tried to follow another mommy around the store. Just as this is happening a lady from the store comes over - I am thinking "we seriously cannot be the loudest people in the store - can we?" She actually ended up asking if we would be willing to help a new photographer in the studio - she needed practice and they saw us - and we would get a free picture out of the deal. If you people are really that brave - sure! We ended up getting one good photo of the girls (If I only had them dressed in their holiday outfits I could cancel our photo session). Hailey was only interested in chewing on her hand - Little miss Ashley on the other hand was working the camera! If you want to check out the pictures you can : http://www.kiddiekandids.com/ - click the mystudio link and the sitting number is 510039484 and the sitting code is WW53D262. We got the sleigh picture - and yes the photographer still needs some work!

Hailey's Other Mom

I have been saying all along how much Ashley loves Hailey - she is always giving her kisses and talking to her - it's very sweet - but it is starting to get a little much. At 5am I am downstairs working, Larry just came downstairs for work and Hailey started fussing upstairs - not loud - just little noises. Next thing we know - Ashley is screaming "GIVE HAILEY HER BINKY!!" "HAILEY NEEDS HER BINKY NOW!!" Larry and I just looked at each other in amazement. Everyone can relax though - I did give Hailey her binky and she went back to sleep =)

Happy Halloween!!

I have been so excited for Halloween this year - I got the girls the cutest costumes and couldn't wait for them to wear them Hailey was a pumpkin and Ashley was JoJo from "JoJo's Circus". I picked them up early and brought them to work for a potluck and trick-or-treating - Ashley really picked up on the trick-or-treating the year. Her little hat was a bit to tight for her so she kept giving people this funny look (I streatched it out for her when we got home). Her whole pumpkin bucket was full by the time we left. Hailey worked the crowd by smiling at everyone who looked at her - she's good! Of course by the time we got home both girls were fast asleep and didn't wake up until almost 4pm! It was pretty cold at our house so we went out early and just hit a few houses - of course Max had to wear his costume too - he was an "Incredible" dog. Before anyone says it's mean to dress your pet up - understand that Max loves it every year. He gets so much attention from all the kids that come to the door - it's a race for him and Larry to get to the door! It was a fun Halloween!!

Pumpkin Carving Party

We had a few friends over to carve pumpkins with us. I bought a bunch of paint, wiggly eyes, and all sorts of craft things for the little ones to use - didn't think I wanted a bunch of little kids running around with carving knifes! It was a lot of fun - every one's pumpkins looked great! Ashley really got into the pink paint for her pumpkin. She had so much fun - she had to keep decorating her pumpkins for several nights!

Pumpkin Patch

We took the girls to a pumpkin patch this weekend - found a small one close to home as Hailey does not travel well. It took Ashley a little bit to warm up but then we were fighting with her that we couldn't take all of the pumpkins home with us. We ended up with 8 pumpkins - yes in the end Ashley won! We were very happy we decided to go on Saturday because we woke up Sunday to a blanket of snow - 7inches total!

Circus Toy Update

I am happy to say Ashley will be getting a brand new Star Wand to replace the one we bought her at the circus. I received an e-mail reply today from the company apologizing and letting me know they are shipping a new one TODAY!! I am very impressed with this company - so if you are at the circus (or any Disney on Ice shows) please purchase the toys, as the company that sells them is very responsive!

Circus Time!!

This past weekend we had tickets to take Ashley to see the circus. She has been having a hard time not being the "only" child lately, so we thought it would be fun for the 3 of us to go. We left Hailey at home with a babysitter. Ashley had no idea what she was in for - she just knew there were going to be elephants there. When it started she was in awe of everything going on....Larry and I on the other hand...let's just say it kind of ruined a childhood memory! I remember going to the circus and it was "The Greatest Show on Earth!". Now I have totally been tainted with what a commercial rip-off it is! They push all the toys and cotton candy straight down your throat - and of course you have to buy it because it is all a part of the experience. You don't want your kid to be the only one sitting there without some obnoxious toy. So Larry went to buy a $7 bag of popcorn - a $10 bottle of lemonade - and Ashley needed the obnoxious toy. Thankfully she picked out the $20 star wand (that stopped working by the time we got into the car - and yes I have already wrote a nasty e-mail to the dumb company who put their tag on the toy). We got off pretty easy too - most of the toys were $30 plus!!

The most important thing is Ashley had a fun time!! She enjoyed every bit of the popcorn - she loved the elephants, and she still plays with her star wand. I am just happy that she will hopefully have the same happy thoughts of the circus while she is young as I did.

Sick Day

This past weekend Hailey had a pretty bad night - so much that Larry had woke Ashley and we were ready to go to the ER. Then all of a sudden she was fine - she ate and went back to sleep??? I decided to go ahead and take her to the doctor on Monday morning - so thankful I did!! Hailey has a double ear infection!! Poor girl! Ashley was staying very close to her, she worries about her so much! Happy to report she is doing a lot better now - just hope this isn't going to be a trend!

Hailey's first trip to the Aquarium

A few weekends ago we had a really windy Saturday and wanted to do something fun. So we decided to go to the Denver Aquarium. We have taken Ashley a few times and she loves it. The good thing is it's inside and it's not too big so nobody gets cranky in the middle of it - not even Larry! =) We had lunch first and they have all the tables in a room with the big tank - we were lucky enough to get a table right next to it so Ashley was able to watch all the sharks go by as we ate. For once she sat almost all the way thru the meal. When we went in Hailey was pretty unsure about the sounds and the lights going down - as you can tell from the picture. Ashley was tired of taking pictures so we only got a few of her this time. It was a fun day!

New Blog

I have decided to make a fresh start with the Blog. It has been a full month since the last post and so much has changed in that month! Hailey is 3 months now and she is growing too fast. Just last night I asked Larry to bring down some PJ's for her. I put them on and we both started laughing - they were 0-3 months and they were so small she couldn't even straighten out her legs! So now we are in the 3-6 months PJ's! Ashley also grew up overnight it seems. She is starting to use little sayings that crack me up. The most used lately is when you ask her to do something and the response is "maybe later" and of course she repeats everything she hears - good and bad. I started back to work (never did win the lottery) and I have a new boss. Verdict is still out on that - I had a really great boss before so I know there will be an adjustment. Larry is going to be starting at a new job site on 10/9 in Aurora. It is a really big job and he is actually changing positions as well. He is going to be an inspector - it will be a nice change for him. We are really looking forward to this month - fall is such a fun time!
