Pumpkin Patch

We took the girls to a pumpkin patch this weekend - found a small one close to home as Hailey does not travel well. It took Ashley a little bit to warm up but then we were fighting with her that we couldn't take all of the pumpkins home with us. We ended up with 8 pumpkins - yes in the end Ashley won! We were very happy we decided to go on Saturday because we woke up Sunday to a blanket of snow - 7inches total!

Circus Toy Update

I am happy to say Ashley will be getting a brand new Star Wand to replace the one we bought her at the circus. I received an e-mail reply today from the company apologizing and letting me know they are shipping a new one TODAY!! I am very impressed with this company - so if you are at the circus (or any Disney on Ice shows) please purchase the toys, as the company that sells them is very responsive!

Circus Time!!

This past weekend we had tickets to take Ashley to see the circus. She has been having a hard time not being the "only" child lately, so we thought it would be fun for the 3 of us to go. We left Hailey at home with a babysitter. Ashley had no idea what she was in for - she just knew there were going to be elephants there. When it started she was in awe of everything going on....Larry and I on the other hand...let's just say it kind of ruined a childhood memory! I remember going to the circus and it was "The Greatest Show on Earth!". Now I have totally been tainted with what a commercial rip-off it is! They push all the toys and cotton candy straight down your throat - and of course you have to buy it because it is all a part of the experience. You don't want your kid to be the only one sitting there without some obnoxious toy. So Larry went to buy a $7 bag of popcorn - a $10 bottle of lemonade - and Ashley needed the obnoxious toy. Thankfully she picked out the $20 star wand (that stopped working by the time we got into the car - and yes I have already wrote a nasty e-mail to the dumb company who put their tag on the toy). We got off pretty easy too - most of the toys were $30 plus!!

The most important thing is Ashley had a fun time!! She enjoyed every bit of the popcorn - she loved the elephants, and she still plays with her star wand. I am just happy that she will hopefully have the same happy thoughts of the circus while she is young as I did.

Sick Day

This past weekend Hailey had a pretty bad night - so much that Larry had woke Ashley and we were ready to go to the ER. Then all of a sudden she was fine - she ate and went back to sleep??? I decided to go ahead and take her to the doctor on Monday morning - so thankful I did!! Hailey has a double ear infection!! Poor girl! Ashley was staying very close to her, she worries about her so much! Happy to report she is doing a lot better now - just hope this isn't going to be a trend!

Hailey's first trip to the Aquarium

A few weekends ago we had a really windy Saturday and wanted to do something fun. So we decided to go to the Denver Aquarium. We have taken Ashley a few times and she loves it. The good thing is it's inside and it's not too big so nobody gets cranky in the middle of it - not even Larry! =) We had lunch first and they have all the tables in a room with the big tank - we were lucky enough to get a table right next to it so Ashley was able to watch all the sharks go by as we ate. For once she sat almost all the way thru the meal. When we went in Hailey was pretty unsure about the sounds and the lights going down - as you can tell from the picture. Ashley was tired of taking pictures so we only got a few of her this time. It was a fun day!

New Blog

I have decided to make a fresh start with the Blog. It has been a full month since the last post and so much has changed in that month! Hailey is 3 months now and she is growing too fast. Just last night I asked Larry to bring down some PJ's for her. I put them on and we both started laughing - they were 0-3 months and they were so small she couldn't even straighten out her legs! So now we are in the 3-6 months PJ's! Ashley also grew up overnight it seems. She is starting to use little sayings that crack me up. The most used lately is when you ask her to do something and the response is "maybe later" and of course she repeats everything she hears - good and bad. I started back to work (never did win the lottery) and I have a new boss. Verdict is still out on that - I had a really great boss before so I know there will be an adjustment. Larry is going to be starting at a new job site on 10/9 in Aurora. It is a really big job and he is actually changing positions as well. He is going to be an inspector - it will be a nice change for him. We are really looking forward to this month - fall is such a fun time!
